kids for special mineral-related activities presented by museum
educators and enthusiastic members of local rock clubs, held in
the museum classrooms! Saturday and Sunday's activities are
open to the public.
Friday's activities
are reserved for pre-registered groups. Organized school, scout,

• Pan for gems at a working sluice
• See a miniature working mine and keep the specimen that
is delivered in a mine car
• Learn about pearls and take one home
• Play the Birthstone Game

DISCOVERY ROOM
Touch, identify, and see beautiful mineral specimens up close in
the Discovery Room!
• See our new Quartz exhibit.
• Investigate the Mineral Match Discovery Box.
• Examine micro-minerals through a microscope.
Carnegie Museum
of Natural History is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm,
and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Except for July and August, the Museum
