Because of his
reputation as the premier wirewrap artist in the country, Carnegie
Museum of Natural History is proud to welcome Jim Fowler of Fowler’s Wirewrapping as a participant in the Ninth Annual
Carnegie Gem & Mineral Show. Jim has been at his craft for over 35
years and many of his pieces have ended up on display in museums.
He was inducted into the National Rockhound & Lapidary Hall
of Fame in the category of Metalcraft in 1993. We thank him and
his wife, Selina, for participating in the Carnegie Gem & Mineral
Show since its inception in 1998.
Jim will be
working on-site in his booth in the Hall of Architecture during
the show; he works with both gold and sterling silver wire.
Whether you are looking
for a pendant, earrings, bracelet or a ring, there are several ways
in which you can own a Jim Fowler original:
- Purchase one of the many pieces Jim has already created that
are on display in his booth.
- Buy a stone from one of the show’s other vendors and have Jim create a piece especially
for you.
- Bring in a loose stone of your own and have Jim wirewrap it
at the show.
- Bring in a piece of jewelry from which you would like to have
the stone(s) reset in one of Jim’s original designs.
Carnegie Museum
of Natural History is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm,
and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Except for July and August, the Museum
is closed on Mondays. For general visitor information such as admission,
